CARING FOR YOUR JEWELLERY
When not in use, always protect your jewellery by wrapping in acid free tissue paper, soft cloth or pouch.
Never wear your jewellery
whilst washing up, cleaning or using chemicals, swimming or bathing
(including washing your hands and showering), or doing sports
activities.
Always
put your jewellery on last when dressing to avoid contact with
chemicals contained in perfumes, deodorants, hair and beauty products
etc., which may damage or discolour your piece.
Plated items are delicate and designed to be worn on occasion. Such pieces will need re-plating every so often to maintain their original appearance.
To clean plated items, gently rub with a soft polishing cloth or use a mild jewellery dip. To clean other metals, use a polishing cloth, mild soapy water and a soft toothbrush or a jewellery dip. If using a jewellery dip, always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
Clean pearls by gently wiping with a soft, damp cloth after wearing and allow to air-dry. Never expose them to cleaning products, chemicals or jewellery dips. Store pearls flat, in a soft cloth, pouch or lined box which will allow them to breathe.
Pearl necklaces and bracelets benefit from being restrung annually if they are worn on a regular or daily basis. Treat beaded jewellery as you would pearl pieces.
